– What are the advantages of doing it this way? 

– What are the disadvantages of doing it this way? 

You must also have the following skills: 

– Broad knowledge about parts of operations in a company.

– The ability to get into details for each part.

– Ability to understand how each part interacts with other parts.

– The ability to forecast future developments in each part.

How Can I Get These Skills? 

The best way is to learn from experts in each field. But, you don’t have time for it. So, you need a shortcut.

To get a broad knowledge about operations, you need to take a course which covers all operations in a company. It covers all major operations in any company or industry. It will give you a broad overview of all operations in a company. Then, you go deep into details on your favorite parts. 

To get the ability to get into details and understand each part better, we suggest you take technical courses on your favorite parts. Such as manufacturing and testing and quality control (QC). We recommend taking these courses from experts who teach this subject at top universities like MIT and Harvard University. 

Most of the executives who become Executive Vp of Operations hold advanced degrees from top universities. Such as Ph.D., M.Sc., or MEEE, etc.
